Social media has been a large inspiration for the project so far, this has been partly due to the lockdown making online the safest way to communicate as well as being a inescapable resource of images.
These are some of the photos the have inspired and helped myself and Warren communicate our ideas to each other so far.
Here is a small list of updates that creative director, Warren, delivered after having spoken to the venue manager... - The triangular flooring must be taken up, however Warren's dad is prepared to make us something similar - We have been offered the use of a small unit which has shelves etc for the exhibition - We are not able to have a partition wall against the back of the bookcases, however we are able to use the back of the bookcases - We may be allowed a partition wall beneath the stairs - We definitely have the use of at least one glass case which will show Rosalyn's portfolio - We may not have access to the white wall at the back of the venue which we were thinking of using for a gallery wall. However, we should plan for either option as there is still a possibility we might. - If we do get to use the white wall at the back, we can definitely spraypaint the wall
As previously mentioned, there is the possibility that we might not have access to the back wall in the exhibition space of the Library. In this case, it's important that we think of possible alternatives should this happen. We think it's necessary to continue to have photographs of the workshop should the gallery wall not be available in the location we had expected it. We would like the attendants of the workshops, and therefore contributors to the exhibition, to have a space where photographs of their work can be seen. I have sketched 2 ideas that I think would make good alternatives. Both ideas do have pros and cons which will be discussed below. Warren has also created some digital mock-ups of alternatives to the gallery wall being at the back of the exhibition space. I will discuss these below.
